Septic Service
Septic Tank Pumping
Nichols Plumbing operates the “Stool Bus” septic pumping service. Please give us a call at (207) 989-1533 for rates in your area. Rates are based on a typical 1,000-gallon residential tank with service cover already exposed. If you have questions about locating or excavating your tank for service, contact us here.
Septic Tank Inspections
Many people buy houses without having a septic tank inspection. Later, they find out later the system is bad and needs to be replaced. The cost could run anywhere from $3,000 – $10,000 or more. Please have the inspection. An inspection only costs about $125 but could save you so much more.
Septic Tank Location
If you do not know where your septic tank is, Nichols Plumbing can provide locating services to mark your cover for digging. Our sewer cameras are equipped with a locator beacon that can be picked up by a handheld receiver.
If your tank is more than 1.5’ – 2’ deep, that can be a lot of hand digging. If you desire, Nichols Plumbing can also provide excavation services to dig up the tank covers for pumping and other maintenance. To learn more about excavation services, please click here.

Pipe Bursting Technology
Pipe bursting is the latest technology in underground pipe replacement. Nichols Plumbing is always looking for faster, cheaper, less invasive ways to service our customers’ needs. Nichols researched, trained, and brought to this area pipe bursting technology with that in mind.
Nichols Plumbing can now replace underground utilities without digging up your lawn, driveway, or walkway. Pipe bursting is a great application for buildings that have old galvanized water main services. Pipe bursting is also a great method to use when pipes run under a driveway, roadway, across neighboring land, under pavement or concrete, under a tree, or to increase an existing service.
